Thanks for the update Teri. My family used to visit the Parsons on vacations back in the early 70’s. My dad used to race with Benny back at Mt.Clemens Raceway in the 60’s. I’ll see if he has any old Benny Memorabilia to donate to the museum.

I have really missed seeing BP each weekend. He really made the races more interesting. He sound like he was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. Thanks for keeping his website going and letting us know how much love a family has for each other. He is one of the BEST!!

I know I’m late on this, but I just wanted to say thanks for Benny! Mr. “TI” Sparks and he are probably having a fine time in heaven playing cards, cooking and watching the races (not necessarily in that order!)
Mr. & Mrs. Sparks (along with Susan and Mark) took us on a RV vacation to North Carolina in 1993. My husband, John, & I got to spend a few days with Hazel and Harold and Patty, and spent an evening with Benny (& Family including the ESPN crew) at a Parsons’ family reunion on the mountain in 1993. It was a great time (Benny killed a HUGE spider for me—probably saved my life, LOL), and full of memories we will always cherish.
Losing Mr. Sparks this past week after a long illness was very difficult, but we all knew that he and Benny would be having a good time. Now we have two more guardian angels!

I am so sorry for the humongous loss this world has suffered with the passing of Benny. I didn’t know him other than watching him every weekend in my living room. He was so fun and wonderful to watch. He was my favorite of all of the announcers. It just won’t be the same. I love NASCAR, but I loved BP as well. God be with the family and thankfully there are plenty of them to keep each other at peace and in comfort. GOD SPEED TO GOOD OLE BP!!!!

I just heard the news today about BP.I also was a racer in the northeast, I am watching ESPN classic which is showing a tribute to DALE Earnhardt and benny is one of the announcers.I loved listening to benny on his shows, I never had the pleasure of meeting BP but you could tell he was a genuine good guy he will be sadly missed. Thanks for all the memories!!!!!

My friends and I will always remember the time you came up on the hill at Sears Point Raceway and sampled some of our fine BBQ ribs..!!
